Makan Yuk @ Nook, Aloft Hotel Kuala Lumpur

The blessed month of Ramadan is upon us once again. So if you’re looking for some Indonesian delights to break your fast, Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral’s Nook all-day dining restaurant would be a great choice for you.

At Nook, you get to experience a gastronomic journey through Nusantara, whipping up over 15 dishes, served on a rotational basis on the buffet spread for you. Their Makan Yuk Indonesia-themed menu is carefully crafted by their Executive Chef Arfizan and their Nook’s Chef de Cuisine – Chef Rais along with their talented culinary team.


One of their signature Indonesian favorites is Kambing Bakar Bumbu. The lamb is marinated with a combination of local spices such as turmeric, coriander seeds, chili powder, ginger and lemongrass. The texture of the lamb is tender and juicy as it is slow roasted for two hours.

Other highlights like Bakso, Gerai Nasi Ayam, Ayam Cabe Ijo, Tempeh Goreng Berempah and Ikan Bumbu Berempah will be available on the buffet.

Daging Sapi Gongso is also one of Nook’s signature at the live carving station. These succulent and juicy pieces of beef is marinated with an Indonesian sweet soya sauce, red chili and a mixture of Asian spices including cinnamon, cardamom, cumin, anise and fennel. It is then slow braised for three hours to retain the Flavour of the marinade and to create the melt-in-your-mouth texture.

Feeling guilty? Load up on your greens with traditional appetisers and salads with dishes including Gado Gado, Urap Sayur, Rojak Uleg Indonesia, Pecal Kangkung, Cilok dengan kuah Kacang and a variety of Kerupuk.

 

A selection of Sambal and Indonesian Curry dishes including Sambal Matah, Sambal Cabe Ijo, Sambal Terasi, Sambal Bawang, Gulai Ayam Padang, Gulai Daging Tetel, Gulai Telur Padang will be offered along with Indonesian rice dishes, the Nasi Kebuli, Nasi Jagung Madura and Nasi Kuning to complement the meal.

 

Malaysian favourites will also make an appearance on the buffet including the must-have Bubur Lambuk, Sup berempah, Murtabak and a special stall of freshly cooked Warong Satay.


 


Reflecting their jet-setting vibe, you can expect international dishes such as Wok-fried Kam Heong Crab, Stir-fried Black Pepper Beef, Lamb Vindaloo, Pizza, Jade Fish Picatta with Mexican Corn Salsa, Vegetable Lasagna and more.




Treat yourself with a variety of crowdpleasing desserts, including Kuih Lapis Bandung, Kolang Kaling (palm fruit), Bubur Sumsum (sweet coconut rice porridge), Sago Air Gula and Kolak Ubi. International offerings include Tapai Ubi, Bubur Pulut Hitam, Warm Apple Crumble, Warm Banana Bread and Butter Pudding, ABC Station, Lemon Meringue Pie and more.

The Ramadan buffet, Makan Yuk @ Nook, is priced at RM148 nett per adult and will be served daily from the 27 April –  22 May from 6:30pm to 10:30pm.


Ramadan Early Bird vouchers for Makan Ayuk @ Nook Selera Indonesia will be available for sale from 1 March – 24 April 2020. Vouchers are priced at RM110 nett per voucher for purchases of 1 – 35 vouchers and RM100 nett per voucher for purchases of 36 vouchers and above. The voucher validity is only for the Ramadan period from 27 April –  22 May 2020. Diners are encouraged to call ahead for reservations prior to dining at Nook.
