Top Places for Korean Food

Korean food is taking over the world and the Korean influence is going strong in Malaysia with the opening of multiple Korean joints in the recent years. Read more to find out some of the good Korean joints in Klang Valley for some tasty BBQ dishes. 

Don Don Korean BBQ

It’s a small joint at a corner shop serving bbq pork intestines! Their side dishes are really good especially their japchae (sweet and savory dish of stir-fried glass noodles) but it’s not refillable. Steamed eggs and kimchi stew are included in the side dishes as well.

Qing He Gu

 

Qing He Gu is a Korean traditional restaurant with no GST or service charge. Service is top notch excellent too. BBQ is done in traditional charcoal which is a must for the aroma and to preserve the juiciness of the meat.

Goheung Restaurant

One of the great Korean restaurants that serves authentic Korean food in Solaris. They serve classic pork bone stew and I like how the pork bone is cooked to the point that the meat can be detached easily from the bone. The soup base is very unique but tasty as it is a mixture of sweet, sour, spicy and bitter taste.

Buldojang

Jajangmyun is a must-order here and the noodles was al dente. Besides, Tang Suyuk was pretty as the pork was still crispy even after it is coated with the sweet and sour sauce.

Kimgane Daegu Makchang

 

Savor the chewy and flavorsome pork intestines which can be found in this hidden gem in Ampang! Koreans like to eat grilled pork intestines especially when drinking soju.

Korean Soju & Beer Bar

 

A newly opened Korean joint that is known for its great Korean snacks and also “Soju + Beer” ! This restaurant is opened until midnight and is definitely a great place to chillax and drink especially when you’re a fan of soju or beer.

Apple Samgyupsal 

 

A great Korean BBQ joint, speciality being the pork (belly, sausage, ribs) which is the first marinated with apples then cooked over the bbq using apple wood.

Sae Ma Eul

 

Sae Ma Eul is a long time Korean barbecue joint that uses charcoal for the barbecue pit. Even though the restaurant is not air-conditioned, the ambience is still casual and clean. It is also always brimming with people!

Nanda Chicken

Amazing crispy fried chicken served with generous portions of cheese. The cheese went well with the soy sauce chicken. Spicy soy sauce chicken here is really good too!

Their fried chicken is simply divine! One of my favorite places for Korean fried chickens. Garlic honey series fried chicken here is always my top pick.

Authentic eight color pork barbecue that you shouldn’t miss! The eight flavours are provided by the marinades in which the pork belly is flavored with. They use local superior pork. Shinmapo Korean BBQ has topped the list of Korean BBQ restaurants with 430 outlets in Korea and more than 500 restaurants worldwide. Being the first and only outlet in Malaysia, it has lead to massive que during peak hours. Nonetheless, the food are worth the wait and will not disappoint. Kpop fans definitely should not miss this out!
